In the last month, four compilations of electronic music have been released as fundraisers for Gaza. This mix is constructed solely from tracks on the compilations, I hope it will expose the compilations to music fans who aren’t DJ’s that buy music from Bandcamp.
Each compilation has a different focus genre wise. Gaza Fundraiser by Atteral is mostly deep house. Slump Recording’s Artists For Palestine Compilation stays true to the sound of the label - bouncy, electro tinged house. Over and Out’s In aid of Gaza is stack full of bass heavy club heaters, while Pana Radio’s Good Deed Dubs is more eclectic, containing everything from low-fi melodic numbers to jungle and footwork cuts.
It is possibly the best mix I have ever recorded; a testament to the generosity of human spirit displayed by all artists who contributed music to them. All of these tracks could have been big singles in their own right. I hope they get the exposure they deserve, and more importantly raise a significant sum to help the various organisations support the people of Gaza through Israel’s latest atrocities.

A note on the name of the mix:
The name of the mix is obviously a play on the phrase ‘from the river to the sea…’. There has been an attempt to discredit this long used Palestine solidarity slogan, some have labelled it a ‘call to genocide’. Aside from the gross indecency of making this claim at a time when Israel has killed over 20,000 Gazans and is obviously trying to make Gaza uninhabitable, itself a form of genocide, this could be no father from the truth.
The slogan ‘from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ does not mean that Palestinians are looking to drive Jewish Israei’s out of Israel/Palestine, but that all Palestinians must have freedom. Palestinians are split between the Occupied Territories, Israel proper, and refugees living in the diaspora. All must have freedom and justice.
Palestinians are clear on what they want out of any future peace settlement - the rights of the refugees to be upheld, an end to the occupation, and equal rights for Palestinains living within Israel. In fact, they couldn’t be clearer, it’s literally on their website:
bdsmovement.net/what-is-bds
None of these goals are unreasonable or genocidal. As we agitate to demand a ceasefire in Gaza now and for wider Palestinian freedom, we should be free to say:
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!
